Match Reports for League Week 4
PREMIERSHIP
Trelander FC 0 v 3 Mo Leicester City
Trelander were no match for the early pacesetters as the Mo Leicesters apply the pressure at the top. 3 well worked goals saw Luke Withecombe bag a brace and Kayne Trevaskis net in an easy win.
Fort XI 3 v 1 Celtic Devils
Sam Cooper took home the match ball with a classy hat trick as the defence man showed his striking team mates how to smash in a goal or two, Duane Brittan replied but the Devils were no match.
Mo Leicester City 6 v 2 Celtic Devils
Devils had a mountain to climb this week playing the top two, and Mo Leciester showed wjy they are sitting pretty at the summit with a fine display. Liam Streat is determined to pick up that golden boot come the end of the season and bagged just 4 with Luke Withecombe and Kayne Trevaskis on target also. Duane Brittan notched 2 to state his intentions on that boot and his 8 th of the season but Streat has 14 in 8 games!
Trelander FC 0 v 3 Malcolm & Dennis
Another top side for Trelander to test their wits against and once again they could not contain the class of M&D. James Bright once again on target with a well taken double and Mark Hollands opened his account for the Claret and Blues.
Le Rouge 0 v 0 Fort XI
Le rouge battled valiantly and got their just rewards as they picked up an invaluable point against high riding Fort XI and put a slight dent in their title push. This title has a long way to go but dropped points against the so called lesser prem sides could be the difference between 1st and 2nd place.
Truro Minibus & Coach 0 v 0 Biffins Bridge
Neither team could raise a squad and so the points were shared
Biffins Bridge 0 v 3 Malcolm & Dennis
With Biffins away the points were safe and so goals were all to play for. Oli Deadman, Tom Peters and Mark Hollands all scored in a rout against Le Rouge.
Le Rouge 1 v 0 Truro Minibus & Coach
The Bus broke down and so Le Rouge picked up the points in this walk over win. They Played Malcolm & Dennis instead and were duly spanked 3 -0.
CHAMPIONSHIP
Truro Foyer 3 v 0 Untouchables
Foyer bossed it and had help from Forts Joe Mcquade (2) and Sam Cooper to round off the scoring. Untouchables to their credit fought valiantly but just didnt have that extra something to get something from the match.
Fal Paolo 4 v 1 HTID Utd
Fal Paolo played untouchables for the goals as HTID couldnt get the team bus to the match. ?? with the goals.
Untouchables 1 v 0 HTID Utd
A walk over win for the Untouchables which is just as well as they were duly spanked by Fal Paolo 4-1 in their friendly for goals.
Fal Paolo 3 v 2 Cornish Rattlers
A cracking game ended with Fal Paolo snatching all 3 points as they climb to 3rd in the table and put themselves right in the frame for the title. Harry Pope and Tom Bartlett scored the Rattlers Goals and they see themselves still locked in a relegation battle. ?? scored the Fal Paolo goals.
KFC 3 v 2 Truro Foyer
KFC keep rolling on with another victory in a tricky tie. Andy Mewton is showing that he has the muscle for the big games and bagged in 2 with Andy Weir also on target. Daine Peacock and Joe McQuade were on target for Foyer but KFC were just too strong. One hand on the title already?
Cornish Rattlers 1 v 3 Shadwell FC
Shadwell got another win on the board as the Rattlers folded under pressure. Mike Pennington scored 2 and was unlucky not to get the hat trick as time ran out on his empty net shot right at the death. Harry Pope had pulled one back for the Rattlers but James Strong increased Shadwells grip on the game
KFC 2 v 1 The Originals
Big Game of the night saw leaders Originals lose to second placed KFC and replace them at the top. Originals were slow to start and KFC took advantage as Andy Mewton bagged two to give them a healthy lead. Lex Replied in the second half but KFC held firm to win through and go top.
The Originals 2 v 0 Shadwell FC
Shadwells unbeaten run came to a halt as title chasing The Originals showed them how to finish. Matty Montgomery thrashed home the first with a thunderbolt of a left foot strike, and Nick Crouch added a second that trickled home and made the keeper look even more stupid that he is. A great 3 points for The Originals as they march on.
DIVISION ONE
Calcio 3 v 0 Floorless FC
Floorless missing key players were outclassed by the ever improving Calcio. Captain Andy Ley lead from the front with 2 class strikes and Chris Etchingham ended any doubt about the outcome with the third.
Booners Boys 8 v 0 Floorless FC
Boom! Spanked! Thrashed! Booners hand out a lesson in attacking prowess smashing 8 past the hapless Floorless. Aaron Meredith lead the way with half of the goals, Ben Minns, Martin Kean, James Lurpie and Tom Lyth completed the rout.
Lost Cause 1 v 1 Calcio
Two mid table sides played out a credible draw, Andrew Hocking & Rob Burden traded goals in a tight affair.
TR2 Good 2 v 0 Booners Boys
Alec Penrose & Sam Dunstan are a deadly duo and once again they were the tormentors as they swept past the Booners to top the table by 7 points and still yet to concede a goal after just 8 games. The title is only theirs to lose surely?
Lost Cause 1 v 1 Inglorious Basterds
Lost Cause looked to have snatched this game as they opened the scoring early on through their top scorer Andrew Hocking. But try as they might it looked like the Basterds were going home pointless until Neil Mason struck with the very last kick of the game! Inglorious were releived of the point, Lost Cause left bewildered.
TR2 Good 2 v 0 Original Gaymers
TR2 Good showed why they are top and beat second place Gaymers with a yard to spare. TJ was the difference between the sides as his class and finesse told with the double to extend the 2 Goods lead at the top.
Inglorious Basterds 0 v 6 Sainsburys Allstars
An unbelievable the bottom club Sainsburys Allstars run rampant away at Inglorious. Lead by Harry Pope, Clinton Sealys men were unstoppable as Pope knocked in 5 and Simon Lyndon added to the Basterds misery.
Sainsburys Allstars 0 v 3 Original Gaymers
From the sublime to the ridiculous! Allstars have to sort out their inconsistencies this season or face a battle for the wooden spoon. Banging 6 past the Basterds you would have thought they would have been giving the Gaymers a run for their money but oh no the Gaymers chasing the title had other ideas and took their chances well with Lee Alberts and a Aaron Wallace brace seeing them through comfortably.

PREMIERSHIP
Trelander FC 2 v 0 Le Rouge
This bottom of the table clash with both teams winless but Trelander bottom after being spanked each week went head to head. But suprsingly it was the team from the bottom of the pile that picked up their first win when Matt Bevans fired home twice for a fine win.
Fort XI 4 v 1 Trelander FC
Trelander were no match though for the formidable Fort Xi as they extended their incredible 50+ unbeaten run to remain top of the pile. A Joe Mcquade screamer, two from Matty Roberts and a Luke Abbot Smith strike answered the solitary goal from Trelanders Andy Heald.
Biffins Bridge 1 v 2 Le Rouge
Biffins Dave Rogers put the home side in front but they were shy in front of the onion bag from that point on and allowed Le Rouge back into the game and record their first league win of the season as ?? scored to end the misery of Dan Thomas side.
Mo Leicester City 1 v 1 Fort XI
Some were touting this as an early title decider but eveyone knows there is a long long way to go yet. Still it was tight tense and everything you would expect from two class sides locking horns in battle. It ended all square which was probably a fair result with Joe McQuade and ?? trading goals.
Celtic Devils 4 v 3 Biffins Bridge
Game of the day was at Devils home ground as they traded 7 goals with the Bridge. Dave Rogers, Steve Moyle and Rich Horsfield grabbed the goals for Biffins but the Devils edged out the game mainly thanks to hat trick hero Duane Brittan and a classy Tom Mullard strike. Biffins now find themselves at the trouble end of the table.
Truro Minibus & Coach 1 v 5 Malcolm & Dennis
M & D threw down their claims for a title runners as they destroyed the usually tight Minibus team. Oliver Deadman stole the show as he bagged 3 to take home the match ball with usual suspects Tom Peters & James Bright thumping in the others for a convincing win. Minbus scorer was ?
Malcolm & Dennis 1 v 2 Mo Leicester City
Mo Leicester had to come from behind to steal victory in this exciting game. Liam Streat was the hero finding the same top corner with two unstoppable strikes as they maintain their unbeaten status and title challenge. It was a devastating blow for M&D who took the lead when James Bright slotted home, but its still early days in the season and surely they will have lots more to say come the end of the season.
Celtic Devils 2 v 4 Truro Minibus & Coach
Another cracking match involving the Devils as they give their season ticket holders extra value for money. Unfortunately it was the visiting Minibus side that took home the points in this thriller. Goalscorers were??
CHAMPIONSHIP
Shadwell FC 3 v 1 Untouchables
Shadwell recorded their first win of the season after 6 straight draws in both league and cup. It started quickly when Adam Hayward struck early on and Mike Pennington added a second. Chris Vargas fired home from distance to put an edge on the game as the Untouchables started to play, but James Strong fired home for a comfortable win ad to end the run of draws.
Truro Foyer 3 v 1 HTID Utd
Foyer move up to third place with a fine win over basement side United. United looked good for long spells but finally succumb to some strong attacking play from Foyer and ??? scored. HTID did manage a reply through top scorer Mike Hitchens but for Mark Deans side its back to the training ground for a double session.
Untouchables 0 v 1 KFC
A miserable day for the Untouchables with their second defeat as KFCs push for the top was given another nudge when Andy Whitford once again was on target for the away side.
Shadwell FC 0 v 0 Truro Foyer
A game of very few chances as all the play got bogged down in the midfield as these tow passing sides cancelled each other out. Shadwell FC the draw specialist made it 7 out of 8 games but are still boasting an 100% unbeaten run.
Fal Paolo 4 v 1 KFC
The boys from Fal Paolo were on fire as they took on the then league leaders and dissected them with consummate ease. ?? ?? were all on target with Andy Mewton replying for the hapless KFC
HTID Utd 0 v 3 Cornish Rattlers
Rattlers opening game of the night went very well as the pulled apart HTID with ease to notch up their second win of the campaign as Harry Pope bagged two and ?? the other for a fine 3-0 victory. The rattlers still find themselves in the danger zone second from bottom, are they to go straight back down after winning Division One?
Cornish Rattlers 0 v 3 The Originals
The Originals were out for revenge after losing the title by one goal to the Rattlers in last seasons Division One, and it was a revenge they got and deserved smashing them for 3 in a convincing win that sees them extend their lead at the top. Still yet to lose a game or concede a goal are the Originals title favourites? Matt Montgomery bagged a brace with Lex Lexington scoring the other.
The Originals 0 v 0 Fal Paolo
Fal Paolo were definitely having a better week and making a statement to the league watch out for us! After smashing second placed KFC they then went and took The Originals to the wire for a credible draw and even had the audacity to claim that their clean sheet was better! Originals still undefeated and top, Paolo move up to forth.
DIVISION ONE
TR2 Good 3 v 0 Lost Cause
TR2 Good are looking just exactly that too good for this league! Another convincing win, 2 goals for captain Alec Penrose and a quality finish from Sam Dunstan put pay to the ever improving Lost Cause.
Calcio 0 v 3 TR2 Good
Another 3-0 convincing win and 3 different goal scorers in a great team effort for the 2 Goods. Alec Penrose and Sam Dunstan were on target again along with Ricks better looking and just slightly slimmer brother Paris Waller. TR2 Good are top of the pile and still yet to concede a goal in the league.
Sainsburys Allstars 1 v 2 Lost Cause
Lost Cause are move up to 4th with this win thanks to strikes from Nick Boase and Jason Rowe. It was tight and could have gone either way as too teams that will be battling for a promotion spot locked horns. Simon Lyndon replied for the Allstars but it wasnt enough.
Booners Boys 1 v 4 Calcio
Booners Boys flying high vs basement side Calcio, Booners took the lead through top scorer Aaron Meredith so surely it was done and dusted...Oh NO! One slight problem in that they hadnt banked on little Dave Hughes running the show! Hughes banged in a fabulous hat trick with probably his only 3 efforts on target, but the little marksmen proved he has the eye for goal with 3 top draw finishes. Mike Cruise put the game beyond doubt with the 4th to move them off the bottom of the table.
Floorless FC 4 v 2 Sainsburys Allstars
Bottom two played each other with the bottom team Floorless coming out on top with style. Mike Ward was the star of the show with a sublime hat trick and the man they call Ney Ney scored the 4th. Allstars rallied but couldnt find that finishing touch with Harry Pope grabbing one reply and ? Scoring the other.
Original Gaymers 0 v 0 Booners Boys
Booners swapped about the team for the supposed sterner test of the Gaymers! It was exciting end to end flowing football with both sides having glorious chances but could not find the back of the net. Aaron Meredith came closest to winning it for Booners but clear through on the goalie he manged to find the outside of the post instead.
Floorless FC 0 v 3 Inglorious Basterds
The Basterds have had an indifferent start to the campaign but picked up 3 valuable points as they look to bounce staight back up to the Championship. Floorless still on a high after their earlier win couldnt find a way through and strikes from ?? settled the match.
Inglorious Basterds 1 v 1 Original Gaymers
Gaymers couldnt find the win they wanted as they lose pace on top spot but still remain unbeaten in second place. For the Basterds it proves that their lowly position belies their potential for greatness in this league. ? And ? Traded goals.

Premiership
Malcolm & Dennis 1 v 0 Biffins Bridge: M&D had were back to full strength for this match up against the Bridge, but it was an keeping error from big Tom Armstrong in the Biffins net that allowed the points to go to the Claret n blue army in a tight and tense game. Oli Deadmans shot was travelling but Armstrong will be disappointed as he seemed to have it covered but then proceeded to almost throw it in his own net
Le Rouge 0 v 1 Mo Leicester City: The City Boys scraped this one by a solitary goal thanks to Gary McConnels strike. It means that Le Rouge still in search of their first win and first goals where as the Leicester boys are still 100% winners.
Biffins Bridge 7 v 2 Trelander FC : Trelanders only had 4 men and did struggle against the mighty Biffins who punished them with 7 goals from ? Trelander valiantly battled on and did manage to make a game of it when Ronnie Tann & Andy Sanders pulled back goals.
Fort XI 1 v 0 Truro Minibus & Coach: Minibus were very unlucky not to get something from the game as they put up a stern test for Dean Robbins Fort XI. It took a moment of class to break the deadlock as Joe McQuade curled a shot into the bottom corner to give the invincibles another 3 points as they go for their 3rd title in a row.
Malcolm & Dennis 3 v 0 Celtic Devils : The two promoted teams went head to head and as last season the Championship champions came out on top. James Bright grabbed two and Samuel Marsden grabbed his 1st of the season too as they came out convincing winners and move up to 3rd in the table.
Mo Leicester City 9 v 1 Trelander FC: It was a demolition as Mo Leicester stamp their title ambitions on the line with a 9-1 thumping of bottom of pile Trelander. Liam Streat grabbed 5, Dave Webb a hat trick and Gary McConnell with the other. Tom Spiller grabbed a consolation for Trelander.
Celtic Devils 0 v 5 Fort XI: Newly promoted Devils grabbed 6 points on their return to the Premier league last week but week two was whole different affair as they came up against the ever impressive ort XI who made short work of smashing 5 past the Devils Scorers were????
Truro Minibus & Coach 1 v 0 Le Rouge: Minibus made hard work of the victory but eventually ran out winners as once again top marksman Paul Billing was the difference with a sweet strike to grab the 3 points and leave Le Rouge pointless and goaless after 4 games and yet came 2nd in last seasons campaign.
Championship
Untouchables 3 v 1 Fal Paolo: The Untouchables grabbed a fine and their 1st win here over one of the favourites for honours Fal Paolo. It was a game that could have gone either way but the untouchables eventually outclassed their opponents for a deserved win. Symon Stephens hit two and Nathan Blah scored the other. Tom Richards got his usual goal but it wasnt enough.
KFC 3 v 1 Cornish Rattlers: It was closer than the scorline suggests but KFC are showing their class as they stretch their legs in this tight division. Andrew Weir was again the antagonist as he bagged a brace and Turkish superstar Serkan Acar grabbed the other. Mike McClean made a game of it by putting the Rattlers back in touch but it was KFC taking the points.
Cornish Rattlers 0 v 3 Fal Paolo : Fal Paolo made amends in this game totality out playing their opponents in this one sided affair. Tom Richards, Malcolm Ross & a surprise goal from Will Paine made it 3. Well it was a surprise to his team mates anyway.
HTID Utd 1 v 2 Untouchables: Untouchables made it 6 points on the day with their second win on the night over the HITD boys. Again Symon Stephens scored along with Nathan as they shoot up the table, but they didnt have it all their own way as Utd looked threatening every time they went forward but only managed a single goal from Ben Trebilcock.
Truro Foyer 0 v 3 KFC : KFC top the pile after defeating the leagues early week one leaders Truro Foyer. There was only one outcome in this game as the KFC went for the jugular and in particular Graeme Weir was in no mood to mess around netting twice. Brother Andy not to be out done also scored as the KFC top the championship in stlye.
HTID Utd 2 v 2 Shadwell FC : Shadwell remain undefeated but will be disappointed not to have secured their first win of the season as a last minute opportunist lobbed strike from Mike Hitchins caught Shadwell keeper off his line to equalise. Earlier Shadwell had took the lead when Rob Pentecost opened, Jerald Sykes equalised for 1-1 but Adam Haywood thought he had secured 3 points for Shadwell when he netted only for Hitchins to score with practically the last kick.
The Originals 2 v 0 Truro Foyer: The Originals are looking good, still yet to concede and scoring freely. Big bad Lex got both in this game to humble Truro Foyer who will reflect on their consistency to be considered as title contenders.
Shadwell FC 0 v 0 The Originals: It wasnt very exciting with neither keeper stretched into making any notable saves. Both teams reamain unbeaten but can Shadwell win one ever?
Division One
Inglorious Basterds 0 v 1 Lost Cause : The Basterds still looking for a first win lost to an organised and resolute Lost ause who snatched all 3 points as Nick Boase blasted home for the win.
Lost Cause 0 v 3 Booners Boys : Can the Booners go straight back up to the championship? On this evidence it would suggest that yes maybe. Big man Tom Lyth grabbed one but man of the match Aaron Meredith bagged two to make the game safe for Booners men. Talk of silverware for the reds?
Calcio 2 v 6 Inglorious Basterds: Calio took the lead when ? Scored, but it was the Basterds who were in Glorious form as they registered their first win when Lee Roskugue netted twice along with Ryan Ault strike but Lee Goldstone took home the match ball with a superb hat trick to secure a fine win.
Booners Boys 0 v 1 TR2 Good: Alec Penrose has groomed his side into an in penetrable force it would seem as they win 1-0 again just like boring boring arsenal of old. Penrose grabbed the winner as two of the top sides went head to head. Booners blamed their defeat on the referee quoting Alex ferguson the ref is just not fit enough, and their growing injury list of players.
Floorless FC 0 v 0 Calcio : The Bottom two clubs went head to head and despite the 0-0 scorleine it was an end to end exciting encounter, but 0-0 it ended and the plus side of it is that at least both teams now register a point on the board.
Sainsburys Allstars 0 v 3 TR2 Good: TR2 are just too good and im sure will be climbing out of this division this season and possibly as champions! They swept aside the Allstars with Penrose, Jack Mewton and Paris Waller all on target.
Original Gaymers 3 v 1 Sainsburys Allstars: The Gaymers are in sensational form at the minute and brushed aside a good looking sainsburys outfit as Chris Webster notched his 1st of the season and Aaron Wallace grabbed a brace to make it comfortable.
Original Gaymers 5 v 0 Floorless FC: After smashing 5 past Floorless the division one rivals of the Gaymers will have to take note. Topping the pile now after 4 games they look a safe bet for honours already. Lee Alberts smashed his 4th & 5th of the season with Chris Webster also netting twice and Criston Dillow added to Floorless misery with the 5th.

Week One Reports.....
Premiership
Fort XI 5 v 0 Malcolm & Dennis
It was great start for the Invincible Fort Xi as they set about defending their crowns. Their first game saw them bump into Championship winners and newly promoted Malcolm & Dennis who had the audacity to sign ex Fort players Mark Hollands & Andy Van Evelingen. But it was a welcome to the Premier league thumping for the New boys as Matty Roberts stared with a well taken hat trick, a Sam Cooper screaming half volley and Joe Mcquade strike sealed the emphatic win!
Fort XI 2 v 0 Biffins Bridge
Biffins proved to be a tougher nut to crack but crack it they did when Sam Cooper stooped to score his 2nd of the night and little William Harvey on his debut for the club robbed a second tapping in a rebound of the post.
Malcolm & Dennis 2 v 0 Le Rouge
M&D did considerably better this time around as they proved to hot to handle for a weakened party going Le Rouge side as Greame Wier proved to be the difference between the two sides as he netted twice for the 1st goals and points for M&D in the Prem.
Biffins Bridge 0 v 4 Mo Leicester City
Mo Leicester have to be in contention for honours this year also as they took Biffins apart with considerable ease. Capitan and goal machine Liam Street bagged a hat trick with Joshua Sims adding one also for a win that will have the rest of the league take notice.
Le Rouge 0 v 1 Celtic Devils
It was proving to be a miserable night for Le Rouge as they lost the second game also to the newly promoted Celtic Devils who look comfortable in their new surroundings. A single goal from the lightening paced Ryan Counter settled the outcome and snatched all 3 points.
Celtic Devils 4 v 0 Trelander FC
Trelander were missing a few players and had to rely on some random homeless person to keep nets for them. It didnt do them well as they were thumped for 4 without reply. Duane Britton opened the scoring and added a second within minutes, Richard Hobbs slipped one under the keeper and waieye Ant Mcparland rounded it all off for a fine nights work for Marcus Joses Celtic Devils.
Truro Minibus & Coach 0 v 1 Mo Leicester City
Mo Leicester scraped this one with a hard fought victory over a good looking TMBC side full of ambition for this campaign. But a single strike from Luke Withecombe decided this game and gave Mo Leicester a 100% winning start.
Trelander FC 0 v 2 Truro Minibus & Coach
Minibus got off the mark with an easy 2-0 win over Trelander. Matters were helped when at 1-0 down thanks to a classy strike from Paul Billing, Trelanders captain Karl Hatton was blue carded for a reckless tackle and proceeded to talk himself into a red. Minibus were in stroll mode and added a further goal as Bobbys son Sam Charlton slotted home from a tight angle.
Championship
Shadwell FC 1 v 1 Fal Paolo
Brian Clough uttered the immortal words of its a game of two halves and this literally was as Fal Paolo dominated the first half only to be rewarded with a clever Tom Richards goal and Shadwell controlled the second half and earned a point when Rob Pentecost rifled a shot past the hapless keeper Jay Wicks into the far corner. A fair result.
Truro Foyer 4 v 1 Cornish Rattlers
Truro Foyer are the leagues early leaders and after leading for so long last season and just missing out on promotion the boys are determined not to let it slip this time around. The Rattlers had signed Tom Bartlett from Foyer but the Judas might be ruing the day he signed for Harry Popes men as they were spanked 4-1. Sam Ryde netted two with Dane Peacock and Matty Roberts also on target. Tom Bartlett did get a consolation against his old club but the newly promoted Rattlers were no match.
Untouchables 0 v 2 Cornish Rattlers
Harry Pope regrouped his men and took the bull by the horns in this game bagging both goals to ensure his team got the season off and running and took all 3 points in a very even game. Untouchables were always in this one and were unlucky to take nothing from the game but once Pope scored they shut up shop and added to their lead on the counter.
Fal Paolo 0 v 2 Truro Foyer
Foyer had a harder game in this one but proving the difference between the sides was the enigmatic Matty Roberts who bagged both of the goals to see off a stuborn and organised Fal Paolo. Foyers Dane Peacock made a a great one on one save at 1-0 that made them the early front runners.
KFC 1 v 1 Shadwell FC
The honours were even in a game that wowed the neutrals with some silky football. Andrew Weir opened the scoring for KFC and they looked to be in control. But a second half solo effort from Shadwells Mike Holden protected Shadwells unbeaten start.
The Originals 1 v 0 Untouchables
The Originals after missing out on the Division One league title last season by 1 goal are in no mood to take the Championship lightly and got off to a great start defeating the Untouchables 1-0 thanks to a Matty Montgomery goal slotting it between the keepers legs in style.
HTID Utd 1 v 2 KFC
HTID are a brand new team to the league and were having to find their feet against an impressive attack minded KFC, despite the loss the new boys will take heart in defeat as they know they will get better. Andy Whitford was in destructable form for KFC and opened his account for the season with two fine strikes to take home the points. Mike Hitchins grabbed a goal for Utd but it wasnt enough.
The Originals 2 v 0 HTID Utd
Two clean sheets and two wins for the newly promoted Originals showing that they arent here just to make up the numbers. A Martin Williams wonder strike and a captain Nick Croucher left footer handed them the points over the new boys.
Division One
Lost Cause 1 v 0 Floorless FC
Lost Cause by name but certainly not by nature as they took all 3 points in a close battle with Floorless. Hero of the hour was Richard Pinch who stole in to score and give his side the victory.
Original Gaymers 4 v 2 Lost Cause
The Gaymers are another new addition to the league and already look one of the favourites to be in with a shout of the title. Especially with striker Lee Alberts in the side there a team that will always get goals. Alberts hit twice with and provided Aaron Wallaces Tap in with on loan Tom Bartlett adding the forth. Andy Hocking hit two for Lost Cause but they couldnt match the fire power of the Gaymers.
Floorless FC 0 v 2 TR2 Good
TR2 Good start the season with a 100% record after this 2-0 win over Floorless. Floorless were one of the form teams towards the end of last season but havnt got going as of yet. Alec Penroses men are the title favourites even at this early stage but theres a long way to go yet. Scorers were ?
Calcio 1 v 2 Original Gaymers
Calcio came bottom of the pile last season and Andy Leys side are determined to go at least one better this time! But a little Dave Hughes goal was not enough to overcome the gaymers as they struck back with a Lee Alberts and a Chris Webster goal to start the campaign with 6 points!
TR2 Good 1 v 0 Inglorious Basterds
The Basterds huffed and puffed at the TR2 Goods door but it never looked like budging as a single strike from ?? settled this tight affair. Despite last seasons The Firms name change to the Inglorious Basterds it has yet to insprire them to victory.
Inglorious Basterds 1 v 2 Booners Boys
The two demoted sides from the Championship faced off again on the first day and it was as close as always. Booners edged it thanks to goals from Booners mercurial Aaron Meredith and it was the big man from the back Luke Wilkes that thundered home the winner from close range to seal the victory.
Calcio 0 v 4 Sainsburys Allstars
The Sunday Super League also welcomed the Sinsburys Allstars into Division One and they got off to a most impressive start thumping 4 past the hapless Calcio. It was a great team performance from the new boys as 4 different scorers found the net in Nathan Tiltman, Pete John, Harry Pope and Zhivko Zhelev.
Sainsburys Allstars 1 v 2 Booners Boys
The Allstars came across sterner opposition in the second match and the Booners managed to snatch victory thanks to inspirational captain Ben Minns who fired not once but twice to see that they hae a 100% start and 6 points on the board!
The Truro Sunday league is so good that the organisers had to rename it the Sunday Super League, against the wishes of the old toffs at HQ who said No! But born it is and the The New Super league Season at Truro kicksoff today with some fascinating match ups as the teams try to get their campaigns off to a flyer! Talk is that a couple of star players have defected from the Invincible Fort XI side in the Premier, so will they be invincible any more, Or can any of the others steal their thunder? And just where have those players moved too?
This year will see a new format in that the teams will play each other 3 times in the league, home away and a 3rd time. The Champions cup will see 2 teams from each division make up the 4 groups of 6 to try and qualify out of the group stage.
NB Please can a representative from each team fill out a team sheet after each game, as match reports, goal scorers etc will be included this season!
